Request Absence

Purpose
To help faculty and staff understand how to navigate in ctcLink and request absence

Navigation:  Employee Self Service (Homepage) > Time (Tile) > Request Absence (tile)

Instructions

Step 1: Go to the ctcLink Login page and log in. (Enter your ctcLink ID and password)

Step 2:  Select HCM Self Service and select the Time tile

Step 3: Select the Request Absence tile

Step 4: The Request Absence page will display. Select Absence Name from the drop-down menu. Optionally, you can also select an Absence Reason. (If the Absence has to do with FMLA, the Absence Reason is required)

Note: If you have multiple jobs, select the appropriate job from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Select Start and End Date. Based on the start and End Date, the Duration will dynamically generate. If the Absence is not for a full day, select Partial Days.

Step 6: Select the Submit button and then select the Yes. Then the status will change to Submitted

Additional Information

If Partial Days is chosen the user must indicate:

  • Is the End Day a Half Day? (Yes or No)
  • If the answer is no, then how many hours is the partial day absence for? (Duration in hours)
  • Select the Done button to return to the Request Absence page
